My Hurried Mind

I used to have this constant internal dialogue about how rushed I was. It felt as if there was not enough time for certain things. Other things felt as if they were going to make me late. New to-do's threatened to keep me from being attentive enough toward the myriad of previous responsibilities that crowded my plate.

My chest was tight. Breathing was sometimes tough. Sleep evaded me. And those voices in my head reminding me of how rushed/tired/over-extended/busy I was seemed to never shut up.

I got tired of this so I deleted that playlist and replaced it with one that reinforced to me that there is enough - enough time, enough space, enough energy.

I breathe easier. I'm present more. I say "no" when I need to - without regret or guilt. I accomplish what I can accomplish, and the rest takes care of itself.

A full and meaningful life does not have to be a hectic one, and the first step is often simply changing how we perceive it.
